CAUTION – OIL SEEP

Please be aware that there is an oil seep and/or leak occurring near the Mishopshno Meadow at the south west corner of the property. Originally, this seep/leak was thought to be a result of a long of an old drilling operation. Conoco and the State’s CalGEM division (formerly DOGGR) addressed this with  drilling and plugging. When seeps continued, a determination was made that part of this area was a natural seep much like the ones to the west at Tar Pits Park.  The City is now looking into capture and cleanup options based on the assumption that the earlier remedial actions may have further exacerbated the spill.
